Split Rail Farms is located in Northern California. We have our goats just north of San Francisco, in both Marin and Sonoma counties. We raise Nigerian Dwarf Goats for milk and for pets. These goats are miniature dairy goats that originated in West Africa. Their milk is high in butter fat and there small size makes them easy to handle.
On the farm we also have laying hens. Our chickens are chosen to lay a variety of egg colors and sizes.
Our family has diverse interests and everyone finds something they enjoy here. My husband Ben is a chef at Drakes Beach Cafe, and works on goat cheese recipes. My father, Robert, enjoys working on farm building projects. My mother, Maria tends the gardens and feeds the animals. My little sister Helen is the official goat namer. I am known as the GoatGal.
